In the Fall of 2025, eight engineering students at Cleveland State University began pursuing their dreams, thanks to the...
Today’s students will one day join a talent pool and workforce that includes thousands of CSU graduates who have been influencing and advancing society’s collective good for the better part of 50 years.
Turning opportunity into impact
When Rameer arrived at Cleveland State University, he quickly realized that opportunity isn’t something to take lightly—it’s something you...
Your support helps alleviate the pressures that can cause some of our students to simply give up, only a few short steps away from obtaining a college degree.
A door opened, a future changed

Thank you for investing in our students. Your support is transforming lives, igniting hope and pulling dreams within reach.

Today’s greatest challenges—for our people and our planet—share a common thread. Their solutions are tied to advances in science, in medicine, in engineering, and in data science.
Through these fields, we have the power to generate lasting change: to cure diseases that have confounded scientists for decades, to rethink the future of agriculture, to build thriving communities, to create a more equitable world.
“We are proud to partner with Cleveland State University in biomedical research, joint PhD programs and undergraduate research opportunities. The university provides vital talent in the biomedical sciences, data sciences and engineering. Their new biomedical discovery institute’s state-of-the-art facilities will strengthen our collaboration and future joint initiatives.”

Solving the complex challenges of our time. Changing the lives of today’s learning leaders.
The complex puts the rights conditions in place. Talented faculty. Ambitious students. Bold ideas. And ample resources.
The complex ensures students from every circumstance and corner of the region have access to best-in-class educational opportunities. It will enrich learning and enable more undergraduates and doctoral students to work side-by-side with faculty on biomedical research.
At least 80% of CSU graduates stay in the region, landing jobs, creating companies, and advancing innovation. The students who learn, grow, and develop in the complex will become the scientists, engineers, physicians, healthcare professionals, innovators, and leaders in Northeast Ohio and beyond.
Many of Cleveland State’s science, engineering, health, and data science faculty are renowned in their fields of experience and have been distinguished with numerous awards. The Biomedical Discovery Complex will help us keep them and recruit more just like them.

"Holding true to our mission as an urban public university, CSU attracts and serve students from underprivileged backgrounds. CSU has a stellar research program - as evidenced by the growing numbers of competitive federal grants – a lure to attract our students to research.
CSU occupies a unique niche: we are highly successful in opening up biomedical research, as a career path, to students who would otherwise never have known such an opportunity. Our collaboration with the Cleveland Clinic further enriches this experience.
To maintain and grow our research-centric mission, we must offer state of the art research space where cross-pollination of ideas can occur, driving innovation. CSU’s new biomedical lab space will do just that: with open floor plans and shared workspaces, the renovated 4th floor of Fenn Hall will attract and retain top faculty and be a magnet for research-hungry students."
